NYC Bus mid May

The world knew about Covid-19 in January.  Why did it take NYMTA this long to protect the bus drivers?  It was weeks after the virus hit New York that they made passengers enter and exit the bus through the back.  By that time drivers already died.  Sad that they waited until mid-May to shield half the bus with plastic.
