From Oakland, I stayed in Berkeley.  All of the following pictures are from a park in West Berkeley

This next batch is from Oakland.  To be honest, these photos are not in complete order.  After I landed in San Francisco I took the city bus to Berkeley and that included a stop in Oakland.  You can't take pictures of the city on the BART train.  Plus, I am never really comfortable riding underground in the Bay Area.  Yes, earthquakes are always on my mind.

PHOTOJOURNALISM: TRIP TO THE WEST PART 1 (NIKON)

This marked the first time I have been to California in well over ten years.  With both my parents alive, but having health issues, it wasn't wise to take the trip.  Even if I could do it, my mind would never have been at rest. I flew out to San Francisco since I once lived there and Cali is best, north of San Jose.  The trip was a full week long.  After the flight, I went on to Berkeley, then Sacramento, and took the train back east.  The posted pictures will show the journey in the order I did the trip.

First up, the scene outside San Francisco International Airport.    The last time I went to the west coast, I actually flew in and out of Oakland.  To be honest, I prefer flying through Oakland because you get to see a better view of San Francisco.
